Rick Van Nieuwenhuyse
Executive Chairman of the Board

Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyse, has been recently appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of NovaCopper. From 1998 to 2012 Rick has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of NovaGold Resources Inc. Since assuming management of NovaGold in 1998, Mr. Van Nieuwenhuyse has assembled a portfolio of world-class properties and a team of top industry professionals who have turned NovaGold into one of North America's fastest growing mining companies, poised to become a mid-tier gold, silver and copper producer.

Rick's vision and ability to follow through can be attributed to his 30 years of worldwide experience in the natural resource sector, including time as Vice President of Exploration at Placer Dome. He brings years of working experience and knowledge of Alaska, Western Canada, Africa and Asia, and has managed projects from grassroots discovery through to advanced Feasibility Studies and production. Rick holds a candidature degree in Science from the University de Louvain in Belgium, and an M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Arizona.

Raj I. Chowdhry, CA
Interim Chief Executive Officer & Executive Vice-Chairman of the Board

Mr. Chowdhry C.A., a Chartered Accountant is the Executive Vice-Chairman of the Board and is a Director of the Company. Mr. Chowdhry has over 25 years of experience in the capital markets and is currently a director of various public companies.

Mr. Chowdhry, the founder & president of Futura Capital Ltd., a Vancouver based private venture capital company was past director of Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. and founding director & president of Camphor Ventures Inc., The two companies entered into a business combination in 2007 to unify their existing joint venture with De Beers Canada who is in the final phase of obtaining the necessary permits to develop the next diamond mine in Canada.

Futura Capital Ltd. has been involved in the venture capital business since 1981. The Company has been involved in raising funds for various venture capital projects around the world. Mr. Chowdhry has been the founder, director and/or officer including President and/or Chairman of several public companies trading on global Stock Exchanges including Stock Exchanges in the United States and Canada including the TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V).

Mr. Chowdhry received a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm.) degree from The University of British Columbia, Canada, and received his designation as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, Canada. He is also a charter member of the Vancouver chapter of The INDUS Entrepreneurs (TIE).

Gerald Booth, B.S. (Geology)
Director / Audit Committee Chair

Mr. Booth has over 40 years experience in mineral an natural gas exploration and development. Since 1998 he has been the principal owner of G.G. Booth and Associates, a project management company serving mining clients. Gerald previously served as Vice President - Resources for Cook Inlet Regional Corporation (CIRI), the corporation representing the Natives of South Central Alaska. While with CIRI, Gerald was employed by Cominco, now Teck Cominco, for over 24 years in Exploration, including exploration and development of the Red Dog Mine, the world's largest zinc producer.
Gerald served as Manager Alaska Exploration the late 1970's and 1980's and participated in assembling a portfolio of world class properties that have played an important role in Alaska's economy. Gerald obtained a B.S. in Geology from Washington State University and is a member of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, the Northwest Mining Association, The Alaska Miners Association and the Resource Development Council for Alaska. He has served on numerous boards and commissions and as a director with several junior mining companies.

Ken Collison, M.Sc. (Mining Engineering)
Director

Mr. Collison holds a B.Sc. in Mining Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and a Masters of Engineering in Mining from the University of Saskatchewan. Mr. Collison was the Chief Operating Officer of Blue Pearl Mining/Thompson Creek Metals Company Inc. from 2005 to 2009, prior to becoming the President of Collison Minecon Inc., a company providing consulting services to the mining industry. Mr. Collison was part of a three man team that purchased Thomson Creek Metals and built it into a one of North America’s premier molybdenum producers. Mr. Collison previously held the positions of Vice President at Crandon Mining Corporation, Rhinelander, Wisconsin (1994 – 1996) and Vice President/General Manager of Coeur Alaska (Alaskan subsidiary of Coeur d’Alene Mines) (1996 – 2000). He has extensive experience in operations as well as exploration, permitting and preparation of feasibility studies.

Steven Khan, B.Sc., MBA, CFA
Director

Mr. Khan, currently President and Director of Strathmore Minerals Corp. , previously spent close to twenty years in all aspects of the investment industry, including retail, institutional sales, corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking. Mr. Khan, a graduate of the University of British Columbia (B.Sc.- 1978 & MBA - 1983), is a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”). Mr. Khan’s private consulting firm, Sona Capital Limited (commenced in 2003), focuses on strategic /corporate development and capital fund raising for private and public companies. He has successfully initiated, completed or partnered several major corporate development initiatives both domestically and internationally. These include government and private company partnered ventures in China, Japan and Korea.

Henry Park, B.A., MBA
Director

Mr. Park is a director of Tintina Resources Inc. Henry Park is a Managing Director of Electrum Frontier. Most recently, Henry Park was the lone commodities analyst at Soros Fund Management responsible for all investments in metals, mining and agriculture. His responsibilities were to conduct research on macro commodity trends, and to analyze public and private metals, mining and agriculture companies. He started his career in commodities within the Wingspan platform of Ospraie Management. Prior to going on the commodities path, he was with GE Capital in the distressed debt business and Morgan Stanley as an M&A investment banker. Mr. Park holds a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University (2006) and a B.A. in Economics from University of Chicago (1998).
